We can provide a flexibility of approach and responsiveness to
the client's specific needs, drawing upon one or more of the following:
- Retained Assignment – This is our preferred
method of operation and guarantees the personal commitment of
the Principal’s time combined with the comprehensive approach
required to ensure achievement of a successful result. The client
also enjoys exclusivity over candidates identified; and an assurance
that their own staff will be “off-limits” against
other assignments. A detailed proposal is prepared prior to commencement
of work covering: background to organisation and requirement,
position and candidate profiles, remuneration, proposed approach
and process, time scale and fees/terms.
- Database Search – This might be used,
for example, on occasions when a client may not deem it appropriate
to initiate a retained assignment, but is nevertheless interested
in being made aware of potentially suitable candidates; eg., timing
of the recruitment may be contingent upon a certain event which
has not yet happened, or a position is only at the “drawing
board” stage, but expert input and ideas are invited. Depending
upon the circumstances, we may be prepared to add value by conducting
a low-key limited contingency search using our extensive in-house
developed “talent pool” specialist database.
- Executive Search – In contrast to more
generalist firms, which rely almost exclusively on researchers
(who typically have never met candidates) to conduct original
often “cold” research, Chryssaphes Associates has
the advantage of a very extensive “pre-researched”
specialist database. This can be utilised for both potential candidates
and sources, and can also be supplemented by in-house and external
research if required. The specialist database currently numbers
around 18,000 individuals, some 1,500 of whom Harry Chryssaphes
has already met during the course of his and their careers.
Information is compiled both from past assignments and other
research sources, pro-actively maintained, with some contacts
going as far back as 20 years! On-going “pre-research”
and identification of fast-track individuals and professionals
is conducted using various published sources. Using a unique,
sophisticated research and specialist in-depth retrieval system
developed in-house, combined with more personal and dedicated
past knowledge of candidates, means that client specifications
can be properly “challenged” and assignments can be
more accurately directed at the candidates to whom they will truly
appeal. This can often lead to a significant time saving on assignment
completion over non-specialist firms.
- Advertised Selection – This approach
can be used where it makes sense as dictated by specific circumstances
(e.g. geographic location of appointment) either in isolation
or combined with an Executive Search approach. However, our extensive
in-house database can normally obviate the need for this additional
expenditure on behalf of the client.
- “Talent Scouting” – Our on-going
pre-research and contact with good individuals regarding their
careers means that often a dialogue is developed with individuals
on a general basis, and not simply against a specific recruitment
assignment. We spend a significant amount of time meeting relevant
individuals to provide career advice, getting to know what motivates
them and what possible career moves would appeal to them –
enabling us to readily pick up the dialogue in the future.
We also (formally or informally) maintain a watching brief
on behalf of clients, selectively advising them of individuals
of potential interest to them (because of factors in their experience,
be it sector, functional, geographical region or other reason)
as and when such individuals potentially become available on
the market. Examples of such activity is for individuals of
potential general interest to Management Consulting or Private
Equity firms (including possible MBO/MBI management). This allows
a client to sometimes hire talent of particular appeal whom
they might otherwise not be able to acquire if they waited until
a specific need arose.
